Dextralog's New Email System Q&A

1) Why have Dextralog created a new mail system?

As you all may have noticed, there has been a large amount of spam email messages over the past few months to your email account, this is due to our old mail systems outdated spam filtering techniques. The new mail system will allow us to have greater control over the spam that is being received by the server, which means less spam for your mailbox. Another advantage is a new WebMail system which has a nicer interface (it looks a lot like Microsoft Outlook) and has a built in calendar. You can also setup mail filters for your mailbox to stop emails you don’t want to receive before it even reaches you. There will be guides created shortly on how to take advantage of all these features.

2) How do I access my emails using WebMail?

To access your emails using the new WebMail interface please use the following link:

http://webmail.dextralog.com.au

Login with the username as your FULL email address (including the @dextralog.com.au or relevant domain name) and your email password.

3) I am receiving a lot of emails after the change over with [SPAM] in the subject?

This is our secondary spam filter changing the topic of a message which it has classified as spam. Sometimes emails classified as spam may not actually be spam, but could be legitimate (For example promotions for certain websites etc). Guides will be posted shortly on how to filter emails marked with [SPAM] in your mail client shortly after the changeover.

4) I used to have a lot of emails in my WebMail account but when I login to the new server they are gone?

That is correct. Mail was not migrated to the new server as people that have already downloaded their emails will receive duplicates. If you need to have all these emails placed into WebMail again, please email dex.mail.migration@gmail.com and we will address these issues Monday morning. Please use the following as a template for your email that you send, as it will allow us to move your emails over faster.
